This course is for people at any level, in any sector. The course provides practical training on manual handling and managing risks associated with lifting and carrying in the workplace.

Overview of Health and Safety law and relevant legislation
Manual handling risk factors and how injuries can occur
How to carry out safe manual handling including good handling techniques (practical work)
Appropriate systems of work for individual tasks
Use of mechanical aids

This course is aimed at anyone working in a school/college who wishes to achieve a better understanding and awareness of the health and safety issues they face in order to improve their risk management

Introduction to Health and Safety etc at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations
Why is it important to manage safely/employer and employee responsibilities
Basic principles of carrying out a Risk Assessment
Manual Handling – risks and principles (includes practical work)
Overview of COSHH, Working at Heights and Lone Working

£400 + VAT for up to 12 learners (includes certificates)

Onsite course charge includes a Qualsafe Awards manual and certificate for each delegate

This course can also be run as a non accredited (HSE compliant) course.
